Emily is the Co-Founder and President of Tessellate, an integrated architectural, digital, and experiential design studio in NYC
Emily draws upon her expertise to guide teams to create rich, meaningful experiences that educate and evoke. Her experiential design strategies facilitate engagement, inspire meaningful connections, and activate audiences for a wide array of project types. Her work is based on the belief that designing an experience is different from delivering information, and the more senses engaged, the more memorable the experience.
With seventeen years of experience as a design leader and skilled manager, Emily oversees multiple design disciplines, including the creative direction for Tessellate's interaction, software, media, and custom technology design. Prior to co-founding Tessellate, Emily was the Director of Immersive and Activity Design at ESI Design and led the STEM curriculum at the Lower East Side Girls Club, MakerSpace. In addition, Emily teaches Cabinets of Wonder, an experience design graduate course at the Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU, and was a recently featured designer in Fast Company. Emily earned an MPS in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University (ITP/NYU) and a BA in Studio Art and Earth Sciences from Earlham College.
