Ellen Richardson is a Manager of Exhibitions at Dumbarton Oaks, a Harvard research institute, museum, library, and historic garden in Washington, D.C. The institute supports research and learning internationally in Byzantine, Garden and Landscape, and Pre-Columbian studies. The museum is renowned for its world-class Byzantine and Pre-Columbian collections, as well as for its select works of European art.
With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Auburn University and almost 10 years of experience in the field, Ellen Richardson combines extensive training in design theory and production, interpretive planning, construction administration, and project management to bring a holistic and informed approach to her design team. Her most recent projects include acting Senior Designer and project manager for the new Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, and the South Carolina Historical Society permanent exhibits.
Ellen Richardson previously worked with Gallagher & Associates as a designer. She currently works with the Small Museum Association as a membership newsletter editor. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from Auburn University, earning highest honor, "A Commended,"at 2007 Auburn University Senior Graphic Design Show for senior thesis project. Ellen was an Outreach Technology Intern at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
