Elizabeth Skolmen is a Seattle chapter co-chair.

Elizabeth (Lizzy) Skolmen received her BA in Graphic Design at Western Washington university. During her time there she minored in both Industrial Design and Sustainable Design, giving her a unique sense of spacial awareness and fondness for built environments. Post-graduation, she spent a year in San Francisco, designing in store signage and merchandising at Real Food Company. Once returning to the pacific northwest, she began work at Michael Courtney Design, and honing her EGD knowledge and skills.

Working at MCD gave her the chance to flex her Marketing muscles and took on the role as Social Media Guru while at the firm. She enjoy the chance to try something new every day and the freedom to learn new skills. While at MCD, she received three awards, two being from Graphis and Graphic Design USA, and was published in both publications.

Lizzy now works at DLR Group in Seattle as an Experiential Graphic Designer and has begun serving as a co-Chair for SEGD’s Seattle Chapter. She decided to serve as a chair after participating in SEGD’s Xlab 2015, SEGD National Conference 2016, and various other SEGD Seattle Chapter events throughout 2015-2016. She has always enjoyed getting, so co-chairing has been a natural fit. In college she volunteered out at La Push Tribal School, working with Kindergarteners and First Graders. Took part in an assortment of design clubs, from IDSA to Design Ocean at WWU. Involved in AIGA events both in San Francisco and Seattle.
