
Eileen Jones, the Branded Environments Global Leader for architecture and design firm Perkins+Will, has been honored by the International Interior Design Association with the Leadership Award of Excellence. Jones was recognized for 40 years of outstanding branded environments work across a variety of disciplines, including corporate, healthcare, education and civic.
IIDA, the leading association of commercial interior designers, praised Jones for her approach of engaging partner teams in a process of continuous discovery and innovation to produce the stories and brand expressions that meet client needs. In her remarks accepting the award, Eileen Jones cited the importance of team collaboration and culture in producing superior results. “What is essential to design leadership is inspiring passion, curiosity and creativity across teams,” she said. “This is how great design happens.”
In her career at Perkins+Will, Eileen Jones has been instrumental in the development of the firm's branded environments approach. She has led strategic research, community cultural interpretation, brand master planning and design development for clients such as DuPont Antron, Haworth, Northwestern University, Nike and American Express.
Eileen Jones currently chairs the University of Kentucky School of Interior Design Advisory Board, and is a member of the International Interior Design Association, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and the Society for Experiential Graphic Design. Eileen Jones has been a featured speaker at academic institutions across the country, including the University of Kentucky, Archeworks, the University of Cincinnati, the Art Institute of Chicago, Harrington Institute of Design, the University of North Carolina and Miami University of Ohio.
