The University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering, Engineering Education and Research Center

Referred to as one of UT’s newest landmark buildings, EERC is an extraordinary state-of-the-art hub and identity for the Cockrell School of Engineering. The 433,000 sq. ft., 8 story, $310 million building creates a strong sense of place for the School and defines a new paradigm for engineering education and research.

Join us as SEGD AUS takes an exclusive Experiential Graphic Design walking tour guided by Austin's Communication Design firm Janke, who spent nearly 7 years developing the EGD program, and Capital Architectural Signs, who fabricated the complex program. The EGD consists of a network of static and interactive touchscreen directories, donor walls, story panels, and wayfinding components throughout.

“From floor to ceiling, the EERC was designed to do more than simply facilitate classes, research and meetings. We envisioned a facility that would inspire creativity and motivate students to think bigger.”
- Sharon L. Wood, Dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering
