Designing With Color

Designing for Color: March 24th, 2022 at 1:00pm EST
Thursday, March 24, 2022 - 1:00pm to 2:00pm

At SEGD, we understand that our community is rich with a diverse array of expertise. Our work brings together graphic designers, industrial designers, exhibition designers, brand strategists, architects,  fabricators, and many others who collaborate to ensure that the built environment not only meets its intended purpose but that it also connects communities through memorable experiences.

One central element that everyone works with, no matter the discipline, is color. The importance of color cannot be downplayed, however, translating color from the screen to the physical world is a complicated endeavor. Understanding the possibilities and limitations of different digital color spaces, physical applications such as direct print, vinyl, or silk screening, and even the addition of lighting are all key components of design.

We are proud to be able to put together this panel of various experts from our field to share their point of view and knowledge of how to work with and understand color:

Paul Dudley, President, ID Sign Systems (IDS)
Eric Alba, Creative, Designer, Producer of Immersive, Location-based Experiences
Craig Berger, Chair of the CD Pathways Program at FIT
Eddie Lee, Bitro Group
Edmond Shahinian, PCL Graphics
Jessica Schrader, Senior Project Manager, Entro; SEGD-NYC Co-Chair
Gary Teich, Color X Visual Solutions
