Denise Lugar specializes in the design and management of complex wayfinding and environmental graphics projects, providing great depth of experience in programming, design, management, documentation, and construction oversight.
Her leadership on projects for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Addison Gallery of American Art, Minute Man National Historical Park, Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven Hospital, College of the Holy Cross, MIT, and Boston Children’s Museum demonstrates the broad range of Denise’s expertise and experience. Her work is seminal to our firm’s well-established leadership in the field of environmental graphic design and wayfinding.
Prior to her joining Roll Barresi & Associates in 1991, she was an Associate with The Architects Collaborative, Inc. where she designed signing and graphic systems for Johnson Wax World Headquarters and the Institute of Public Administration in Saudi Arabia, and was responsible for exhibit programming for the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Denise has collaborated with colleagues to develop and teach an introductory course in Architectural Graphic Design at Massachusetts College of Art & Design and her work has been published in Identity, Facilities Design and Management, and Architectural Record.
Denise is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University (B.Arch., 1978).
