Deborah Dennison creates maps to help people navigate through buildings, campuses and business parks. This includes the creation of beautiful basemaps to visualize the landscape, buildings, and room layouts. These maps are produced as interactive online Way Finding Maps. Deborah's building layouts are transformed from CAD and REVIT data using automated tools that are kept up-to-date. The online maps can include searches for geo-located assets such as equipment, exits, medical support, infrastructure and employee directories. Deborah Dennison dedicates her time and resources each month to help children learn about geography and GIS (Geographical Information Systems). When asked what it means to give back Deborah is quoted saying "It is wonderful to pass along a passion for learning and how to create maps using special mapping software." Students become inspired to learn about geography especially when they see how math and science are involved. Deborah shows them how to reveal things in maps that normally cannot be seen - such as the temperature of the water at different depths in the ocean and how fast the currents are moving around the world. It opens their eyes for using data and exploring the results in scientific ways.
