Corbin Design (Traverse City, Mich.) President Mark VanderKlipp earned his accreditation in Evidence-Based Design through the Center for Health Design. His certification brings Corbin Design into a community of healthcare administrators, practitioners, planners, architects, interior designers, and others committed to achieving real-world results in the design of healthcare environments.

Evidence-Based Design is the process of basing decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes. Using EBD process and principles, Corbin Design developed a research program as part of the Hablamos Juntos Universal Symbols in Health Care initiative completed by SEGD member firms and other consultants. Corbin continues to work with its clients to add to the body of knowledge surrounding wayfinding communications in both built and virtual environments.
