25

Jury Award

"25" is a mixed-use office and retail environment on a 50-acre campus in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The client challenged Vaughn Wedeen Creative to create a destination as opposed to a location. With that in mind, the identity consists of the unique name "25" (instead of the typical "I-25 & Jefferson Business Park"), punctuation marks as accents to the name, marketing materials, and a tag line that reads "25. A park like nobody's business." The idea was to create an exciting gathering/meeting/ shopping/dining/entertaining/working experience found nowhere else in the city, a theme business park. The "25" theme park is a triumph of architecture, construction, graphic design, and marketing. Brian Parks of Provident Realty Advisors says, "This has been one of the most satisfying experiences I've enjoyed as a developer. Every step of the process exceeded my expectations. This team delivered an exceptional product...on time, on the mark and on the money. And the absorption rate has been just as remarkable. What more could you ask?"

Jury Comments:

"The forty-foot tall identity monument is a wonderfully playful contribution to an otherwise crassly commercial expressway corridor lined with all the usual big box chains. Its bold scale and animated typography are great gestures in the landscape and give this office/retail campus a unique sense of place."
