Cloud Gehshan Associates (Philadelphia) announced that the Al Doho Quarter Renewal Project of Old Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has reached the design development stage. CGA is working with Ayers Saint Gross on the project. In addition to the restoration of a section of original residences and souk, this 15-city block neighborhood will include restaurants, offices, hotels, markets, and mosques. The project, which includes bilingual placebranding, wayfinding, and interpretive storytelling, is expected to become a major cultural destination and will link to adjacent sites such as the National Museum, Murraba Palace, historic Al Masmak fort, Salaam Park, and the Grand Mosque. The project should be completed by 2015.
