Christopher Smith, Executive Vice President, Gelberg Signs Inc. and the SEGD Washington DC Chapter Co-Chair

Christopher Smith has over 15 years of experience in Architectural Sign Manufacturing. Chris is an exceptional communicator who excels at delivering small format presentations and maintaining customer relations and developing business relationships with national and international accounts.

Chris was previously at Color-Ad Signs and Exhibits for 8 years and AGI in Virginia beach before that.

He is a polished professional with an intimate understanding of the sign industry, expertise in new business development, design-build projects and large scale wayfinding + branding programs.

Christopher Smith has completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology, Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice College, Newport News, VA and an Associate of Applied Science in Graphic Design, Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, VA

Perkins + Will’s Atlanta Branded Environments team hosted the SEGD Wayfinding Photo Challenge for attendees of the 2014 SEGD Conference. It was a great way to add even more fun to the conference and explore the power of social media as a tool for placemaking and economic development.

More and more, we are seeing how regular citizens with camera-enabled smartphones can help shape the future of a city’s brand. Our goal was to provide further evidence of this changing power structure in the field of design.
