On November 12th we hosted happy hour at Hopworks Urban Brewery. About 20 members and non-members gathered at the well-known brewery and branded interior to socialize over beers and appetizers.

The night was a chance for our newly formed chapter to connect and discuss the recent name change. In preparation for 2014 event planning, attendees were asked to vote on the best times and places to meet and suggest events and topics that are most important. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us understand what is relevant to the Portland SEGD community.

Dsign Week Portland SEGD Participates

SEGD Portland Chapter jumped in as a new chapter with an event during Design Week Portland. Mike Sauer and Elizabeth Krygier of Anderson Krygier, Inc. and Kathy Fry and Liz Talley of Mayer/Reed presented a retrospective of environmental graphic design including prominent designers and projects. Through 4 topics; wayfinding, placemaking, storytelling, and experience design—each speaker discussed the collaboration of design disciplines including graphic, architecture, interior, landscape, and industrial design.
