Join us for an exciting night with Steampunk ReImagineer, Bruce Rosenbaum, as he discusses his work and gives us a behind the scenes tour of his and his wife, Melanie's Steampunk Wonderland home, workshop and gallery space: a converted church in Palmer, Massachusetts.

About Bruce Rosenbaum

Bruce Rosenbaum has been dubbed the Steampunk Guru by the Wall Street Journal and Steampunk Evangelist by Wired Magazine. Bruce's functional Steampunk artwork has been featured in the Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, Architectural Digest, CNN, NPR and featured on MTV, A&E, HGTV and Netflix.

Bruce's company, ModVic, works with clients all across the world to take period, repurposed, personal and meaningful objects, and creatively infuse them with modern technology to transform the ordinary into incredible Steampunk functional art. The Steampunk art and design process celebrates history, while setting a path for a reimagined better future -- telling the personal stories of objects, individuals, organizations and places.

ModVic's Steampunkinetics workshops build art and history into science helping to promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, ART and Math) for atypical and neurotypical children and adults. Bruce and his wife Melanie now live in an 1876 Victorian Church conversion (now their home/gallery/workshop) which was featured on Netflix's Original Series 'Amazing Interiors' - Episode 8 - Steampunk Wonderland

There has been a revolution in surface treatments that allow paint, printed treatments and vinyl to replace a range of materials and surfaces. Please join us March 31st at 5 pm for a chapter event that will focus on all things surfaces and how designers can research and take advantage of these trends. In addition to expert views of materials trends there will be a short discussion on how designers can work with suppliers and fabricators to experiment with surface approaches on projects.

Speakers:
Anthony Clayton, Bluebird Graphic Solutions
Steve Zarba, Bluebird Graphic Solutions
Brian Plouffe, ORAFOL Americas Inc.
Elena Berry, Metro Sign & Awning
