Caroline Hinrichs enjoys turning strangers into friends, making connections between people, and helping others, and she recently found her calling in architecture and experience design. Caroline enjoys being a part of the built environment industry because she embraces the transformational impact architectural design has on cities, institutions, and communities.
Caroline's passion for experience design comes from her background in theatre and storytelling that manifested professionally in marketing, branding and launching a boutique experiential and event marketing firm. She brings her expertise (and enthusiasm!) as the business development director for HOK’s Experience Design team.
Speaking of working with designers, Caroline also supports teams in their professional development as it relates to being strong seller-doers (i.e. architects/designers who do business development,) and getting involved in their communities in authentic, impactful ways. A passion and strength of hers is goal-coaching and developing others. Caroline's top 5 Gallup Strengths are Input, Ideation, Maximizer, Learner, Strategic – ask her more about them and how they show up for her (and for you). She encourages everyone to explore what it means to be a strengths-based professional.
Caroline Hinrichs believes the design community can truly do more and be more to help clients and organizations live their missions and brands and in turn, create meaningful change together. She is a die-hard optimist which aligns nicely with the famous Norman Foster quote my HOK colleagues identify with: “If you weren’t an optimist, it would be impossible to be an architect.”
