“Off Grid 18,”the second-annual international experiential graphic design event created by the Wellington Chapter of SEGD, transpired over four days and four cities in late February. The theme was “Experiential City,” which posed the question, “What is the ‘experiential city’ and where does design fit in?”

Carlo Giannasca is a multi-award winning graphic and environmental designer who today is a partner at globally recognized Frost*collective where he is Head of Urbanite, one of Australia’s foremost authorities on brand in the built environment.
During his career spanning 30 years he has fostered highly respected creative partnerships with architects, interior-designers, builders and developers to deliver major branding, strategic signage and wayfinding schemes for the public and private sectors.
His portfolio is prolific and includes design solutions for Qantas, Lendlease, Mirvac, Westpac, KPMG, Macquarie Group, AMP, CBRE, Goodman,Westfield, American Express, Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building, Circular Quay transport interchange, Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre, Darling Harbour and Woolworths and Wayfinding for the Barangaroo Office Towers are also on his credentials.
His love of typography, design history and theory is a defining element of his design solutions which span a broad range of sectors including transport, retail, education, health and public spaces.
As Head of Urbanite, Carlo Giannasca’s goal is to be the first company that architects, builders and developers think of when looking to partner with creative, spatial experience designers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Visual Communications, is a guest lecturer at University of Technology, Sydney and is a sought after and regular speaker at industry events.
