Carlo Bailey is a Design Researcher at WeWork, a global platform for creators spanning the physical and digital realm. WeWork creates award-winning collaborative spaces, alongside a digital app that allows members to connect and work remotely with others inside the network. As a front-runner in defining what the future of work is in the 21st century, WeWork has attracted some of the world’s best known brands and cutting edge startups: from Microsoft and Mastercard to IBM.
As part of the Product Research team, Carlo Bailey has led projects utilizing machine learning to predict real user behavior, conducted spatial data analytics and prototyped new apps to inform decisions regarding physical spaces and service development. An avid public speaker and writer, Carlo has spoken widely about the future of work, technologies impact on the architectural design industry and the research he has been conducting at WeWork.
Carlo Bailey has pursued a career that bridges the design and technology fields. His experience ranges from VR and data visualization, to automating the fabrication process of prefab housing.
Prior to WeWork, Carlo Bailey received his Masters in Architecture from Columbia University, where he also taught a graduate class on spatial analytics and IoT development. He has also worked for some of the biggest names in the architecture industry, including Foster + Partners, SHoP architects, and KieranTimberlake. He has written published articles on design theory and scientific research.
