Carbone Smolan Agency (New York) partnered with the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County to bring the graphic personality of the museum to the third dimension, which is now fully realized. CSA’s initial charge—to develop a wayfinding and graphics system—needed to lead visitors through the museum—both during construction and after—while complementing diverse architectural conditions. The museum recently celebrated its centennial by unveiling an impressive renovation of their sprawling institution.

In a continuing series, Ken Carbone discussed “60 Ingenious Knot Designs from the ‘Man on Wire’” for Fast Company.
