Farewell from SEGD President Bryan Meszaros

Bryan Meszaros, CEO of OpenEye Global

Hello SEGD,

As the decade comes to an end so does my time as President. Over the past 10 years SEGD has seen unparalleled growth through the leadership of numerous dedicated and passionate individuals. I am honored to have had the opportunity to play a small role in the success of our organization.

As we are a diverse community comprised of different disciplines from all parts of the world, we have learned how to work together and increase the awareness of our profession. I am intensely excited for what the next decade has in store for us!

Looking back on the past two years I believe there are two key areas that we overwhelmingly excelled in that will benefit us as we kick off 2020:

  • Digital Awareness: We continue to diversify our organization as we welcome more Digital Experience design agencies to the community. More than half the projects featured on SEGD.org this year were inclusive of a digital component. Great experiences are defined by collaboration and we are seeing a steady growth of projects taking on the challenge of balancing physical design and digital engagement.

  • Chapter Growth: Our Chapters and the events they hold are the key to our success! We currently have 42 Chapters which span nine countries. Through the tireless efforts of our Chapter Chairs, they have held a combined total of around 168 global events in 2019. That is close to 14 events per month (or 3.23 events per week) celebrating our profession!

It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve as your President. I am grateful for all of the relationships I’ve formed, the incredible people that I was able to work with and the initiatives we’ve achieved for our organization. Due to the generous support of our members, sponsors and partners, SEGD continues to strengthen our position as the global authority for experiential graphic design.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the SEGD staff, Board of Directors and Chapter Chairs for their commitment to meeting all of the SEGD Strategic Plan goals.

I’m incredibly excited to pass the presidential reigns on to Anna Crider, Principal in the New York office of Entro. Anna previously served as one of the NYC Chapter Chairs and as a Board Member since 2016. She will no doubt be a successful and strong leader for the organization.

As my term on the Board will continue until 2023, I am excited to retain a presence in the leadership of SEGD as an advisor to our new President.

I wish you all a prosperous and successful 2020!

Kind regards,

Bryan Meszaros
