The 2017 SEGD Global Design Awards regular entries close 01.31.2017.

Winning entries will be announced and celebrated at a dedicated SEGD Global Design Awards ceremony at the SEGD Conference Experience Miami. Look at the 2016 Winners gallery as a reference point for what to enter.

Since 1987, the SEGD Global Design Awards have set the standard of excellence for experiential graphic design—honoring design work that connects people to place by providing direction, content, and compelling experiences in public spaces.

Winning projects have ranged from interactive multimedia environments to complex hospital wayfinding systems and from branded corporate environments to museum exhibitions. Retail and interior projects, architectural signing, public art, design research, and books have also won awards. Students compete along with professionals and often win Merit and Honor awards.

Awards are conferred by multi-disciplinary, international juries. Past jurors have included Henry Beer, Peter Dixon, Sue Gould, Graham Hanson, Lars Uwe Bleher, David Vanden-Eynden, Kelly Kolar, Ken Carbone, Mitchell Mauk, Ronald Shakespear, David Gibson, Paul Prejza, Lance Wyman, and Virginia Gehshan.

What People Are Saying About the Design Awards

We constantly hear feedback about the high standards that the SEGD Global Design Awards set because of the rigor of the jury process.

"We only enter two awards, the SEGD Global Design Awards and the Type Directors Club." - Paula Scher, Pentagram

"For EGD practitioners, the SEGD design awards is the only competition that matters. But you gotta be in it to win it!" -David Vanden-Eynden, FSEGD

"Like most studios, we have reduced our involvement in competitions for financial reasons and lack of return on investment for ourselves and our clients. That said, we continue to make exceptions for those--such as SEGD--that represent the best of a specific design discipline. The SEGD Design Awards bring prestige and a return on investment by validating the caliber of work we provide. And a winning project adds to our clients' cachet."  - Tom Marquardt, Design Collaboratives

"Entering a project in the SEGD competition is a great way to acknowledge and appreciate the designers who worked hard to create it." - Virginia Gehshan, FSEGD

“We are pleased, once again, to have the prestigious honor to sponsor your Awards Program for 2017. SEGD brings the planning, designing and building – 3M brings the science behind the innovative solutions that help you shape experiences people have with places and brands” - Cindy Jenkins, 3M Commercial Solutions Division
