After a meeting with the new leadership at Emmaus House (Joseph Mole and Beverly Banks-Greene) to gain design and functionality direction, a design charette was held at the offices of Cooper Carry on Feb. 4, 2015. SEGD design participants included Steve Dubberly, Chad McLeroy (Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates, Inc.), Danny Roberts (APCO), Barry Atwood (Atwood Consulting), Lynne Bernhardt (L.Bernhardt Design), Steve Carlin (Cooper Carry) and Alex Meiser (SBS). Creativity, camaraderie and a wealth of knowledge abounded! Everyone contributed to a well-developed direction based on client input and logistical needs.
The design direction included components of many of the fantastic concepts developed by the teams who participated in the Improv(e) during the 2014 SEGD Conference in Atlanta.

After the charette, each team member then took ownership of specific tasks to fully develop the system: Lynne Bernhardt and Steve Carlin (SEGD Atlanta Co-Chairs) developed the sign location plan and message schedule. Steve Dubberly and Chad McLeroy proceeded with design development.
We are now ready to present the client with a finalized design. Once design is approved by Emmaus House, Steve Reinisch (The Great Detail Guy) will generously donate his great detailing skills so the package will be ready to move into Construction Documents.
Thanks to all for making this a reality for Emmaus House!
