Arrowstreet (Boston) will serve as the architect for Congress Square, formerly known as “The Block on Congress.” Related Beal acquired the properties in 2013 and is repositioning and reinventing the entire city block in the heart of downtown Boston, creating dynamic office space and marquee retail.
Arrowstreet is charged with redesigning the Congress Square buildings into a dynamic 24-hour mixed-use environment. Plans call for the creation and activation of a new pedestrian walkway called Quaker Lane, which bisects the property and will connect Post Office Square to Faneuil Hall. Retail shops and boutiques will line Quaker Lane. The retail portion of the project is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2015, while the office space will be available in 2016.
