Multidisciplinary design firm ArchitecturePlus International, api(+), was honored by the Shop! Association Design Awards for their prototype design for Knock Knock Spirits. The design earned Gold for Best Branded Shop within a Store and a Fixturing Special Element Award.
The 500-square-foot 1920’s speakeasy-themed liquor store concept was developed with Lowes Foods and repurposes shopping cart vestibules into an intimate shopping experience. There are currently two locations and more planned.
With thoughtful space planning and detailing, and custom fixturing that maximizes every square inch, api(+) created a highly efficient space that stocks 800 SKUs of liquor.
Focal wallpaper, illuminated fixtures, brass and art deco accents, white marble, tin ceiling, a library-style ladder system for bottle access, clever graphics, and jazz music all help set a distinctive prohibition-era ambiance.
