Anthony Deen is the managing partner of Place + Make Design, LLC, an environmental design firm focusing on public and social space. Anthony’s foundation is in design and project management of large format retail - Virgin Megastores, FAO Schwarz flagships and Circuit City stores. Anthony also has specific expertise in designing retail for transportation facilities. In recent projects Anthony has expanded beyond retail to the design of public and social spaces. Notable projects include the interior for jetBlue’s terminal 5 at JFK airport, the master plan for Chelsea Market’s phase 2, and he is presently completely work on the WTC/Westfield/PATH district at the World Trade Center.

Anthony is an architectural designer, design strategist, technology integrator, educator and writer with over 20 years experience in creating and building innovative environments. Anthony holds several design patents and his work is included in the Smithsonian’s National Design Museum. Anthony's projects have won the Cannes Gold Lion, International Design Award, Spark Design Award, multiple SEGD and GOOD Design awards.

A graduate of the Cooper Union, Anthony co-founded the MFADT in Design + Technology program at Parsons School of Design, where he still teaches as an adjunct associate professor. He also co-founded Gowanus By Design, a community based urban design advocacy, and served as a member of the EPA’s Gowanus Community Advisory Group.
