Andrew (Drew) Freeman is the founder and principal of afreeman. He works with clients and colleagues to envision, create and implement conceptually significant yet commercially successful design solutions. Drew is responsible for excellence across all afreeman projects.
Andrew Freeman's expertise includes the design of identities, branding systems, websites, signage systems, environmental graphics, packaging and publications. He has worked with clients including: NYC Parks, the High Line, National Geographic, The New York Times, Columbia Records, Shake Shack, Spike Lee, Bloomberg, Cohen Brothers Realty, Robin Hood Foundation, Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Children’s Museum, The Public Theater, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Reebok, Citibank, Hershey’s and Target. On signage and environmental graphics projects, Drew has worked with architects including: Rafael Viñoly, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Studios Architecture, Gehry Partners, Arquitectonica, Platt Byard Dovell White, Beyer Blinder Belle, Field Operations, Cesar Pelli, Grimshaw, Ennead and H3 Hardy Collaboration.
During the course of his career, Drew has been the recipient of numerous industry honors and awards from design associations and publications including: the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), Type Directors Club (TDC), Art Directors Club (ADC), Society of Environmental Graphic Design (SEGD), Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), Print, ID., Creative Review and Graphis.
Prior to founding afreeman in 2012, Andrew Freeman served as Associate Partner to Paula Scher at Pentagram in New York. Drew holds a BFA and BGD from the Rhode Island School of Design. He serves on the New York Chapter Board of AIGA.
