Mr. Andreà Cassar is an award-winning Graphic Designer and Artist, who emigrated to the United States from Italy in 2004. He is currently the Vice President of Creative Services at Blue Force Communications, global public relations firm, where he is in charge of all visual services and collateral. Cassar has held management and design positions with companies including Macy’s, GAP Inc. and The Children’s Place, where he honed his skills in Concept Development, Creative and Art Direction, and cross-platform Brand Development. Cassar speaks fluent Italian and English, and is a dual citizen of the US and the European Union.
Andrea Cassar’s passion for visual and experiential design started while working for Banana Republic, where he was a Windows Visual Supervisor. There he loved the challenge of having to solve unique visual communication problems through the use of the company’s visual directives. Realizing his implementation of directives had a positive impact on customer satisfaction and sales, he started sharing his own visual concepts and ideas with other businesses. Having already won awards in the metropolitan New York and New Jersey areas for his window displays, this is when Cassar knew he wanted to improve upon his visual communications skills, by going back to college for Graphic Design..
While attending school full-time, Andrea Cassar initiated projects and led teams working on Wayfinding, Brand Design, Book Design, Website Design and Coding. His business has included clients ranging from the US Government, Memorial Sloan Kettering Research Cancer Center, Rutgers University, Express Newark and non-profit organizations.
Andrea Cassar graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art and Art History, manga cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Rutgers University, where he was also awarded the Creative Achievement in Graphic Design award in 2017.
Outside of work, Andrea Cassar enjoys traveling, oil painting, and creating visual data base information books used to educate children ages 6 and up. Some of his books that are in the works involve educating youth on space history, earth history, and social issues like the importance of using alternative energy sources. Cassar also enjoys curating art shows that educate people about his native Italy, Italian Folk Life. You can see some of his work at www.andreacassar.comand www.sicilian-art.com.
