Ana Tobin is a multimedia designer and educator living in the USA in the Washington, DC area. She received her B.F.A. in graphic design and her B.S. in advertising from Boston University. She completed an M.F.A. in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2021. Her work focuses primarily on experiential graphic design with accessibility at its core. She likes to mix and match traditional media with emerging media and incorporate experiences and play into her work. Prior to attending graduate school, she worked in-house for a non-profit, at a print and web design firm, and at an environmental and exhibition design firm. She was a Visting Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at James Madison University for a year and is currently an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design at George Mason University.
At both schools, she taught both traditional graphic design along with new media courses. Ana has won over 30 design awards through institutions such as SEGD, AIGA, Communication Arts, IDA, and GD USA, among others. Ana has worked on projects for clients such as the World Bank, the National Park Service, Intel, and the Smithsonian. She is a recent SEGD Award winner for her project Neuro Divergent which allowed participants to feel what it feels like to have different learning disabilities and disorders and to use their unique methods of learning.
