Amy Blackman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After receiving an Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Colombia, she moved to Los Angeles, where she discovered her work-passion-play, Band Management, which she did for 18 years.

Her career culminated in managing Grammy-winning bands and producers, touring the world and being named a Cultural Ambassador for the U.S. State Department. The ambassadorship included producing public diplomacy missions in regions that had never before seen live music from the West, such as Nepal, Myanmar, Madagascar and Mongolia.

Dreams fulfilled, Amy Blackman sold her house, quit her job and took a two-year sabbatical, attending Georgetown University for a Global Executive MBA. She was recruited out of her MBA program to run the North America subsidiary of a global multimedia design agency.

Amy and her team were then acquired by Contend, a branding and experiential marketing agency where she served as VP of Contend Immersive, working with rogue, vanguard and brilliant strategists, designers, artists and branders.

Amy Blackman is now coalescing her non-linear experience into a new technology platform, hitting the market later this year. Stay tuned! For fun, Amy does international channel swimming expeditions. If you ask Amy what her tag line is, she would say: “As I cultivate my own nature, all else follows.”
