Amelie Bahlsen, Designer, Amelie Bahlsten Creative, Washington, DC
She is an experienced designer with a demonstrated history of working in the fashion industry, museum and kitchen world. She is skilled in CAD, Vectorworks, Experience Design, Visual Communication, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Her fashion design is based on experimental pattern construction where she aims to translate abstract and conceptual ideas about space, perspective and three-dimensionality into the construction of garments and their designs. Taking this affinity for interiors and architecture even further she decided to merge this three dimensional way of thinking with the Exhibition Design field to create a truly multidisciplinary way of designing spaces, objects and garments and achieve a memorable experience for each client, visitor and audience.
Amelie Bahlsen is a strong arts and design professional with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Exhibition Design from Corcoran School of the Arts and Design at The George Washington University as well as a B.A. and M.F.A in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design in New York.
Prior to starting Amelie Bahlsen she worked for Bulthaup, The Smithsonian Institution and the Corcoran Museum School of the Arts and Design in Washington, DC. Amelie Bahlsen has also been an Art Handling Consultant at the Hamiltonian Gallery and the Consulting Lead Exhibition Designer for the German American Heritage Society.
