I am a senior at Miami University in Oxford, OH and am studying graphic design, architecture, and interactive media in the College of Creative Arts. I am interested in environmental/experience design and the way that the public interacts with products and spaces.

This interests derives from my twelve years of involvement in Destination Imagination (DI). DI is an educational program focused on generating creative solutions to abstract problems. I designed and constructed award-winning scenery and props for our presentations at local, state and international competitions. Since graduating high school, I am a proud alumni and volunteer of the program.

Throughout my time in college, I have grown tremendously through three hands-on internships. Even though all three were in-house positions, I was able to compare and analyze the processes of vastly different sized companies. After my freshman year, I interned at GrandinRoad (West Chester, OH) and elevated my InDesign skillset. The next summer, I worked at Cincinnati start-up JUMPER Threads. Here I wore many hats, working on product design (socks and underwear) and campaign materials (Kickstarter page). The following year, I interned at Bath & Body Works on both the Home Fragrance packaging design team and the Concept team. I loved understanding what would drive the design concepts.

I have a passion for research. I enjoy getting into all of the details of any given project. Learning about new things drives my creative process. I hope to spend some time in a larger city in the next several years and develop my design skills in a high-intensity, profession setting. I'm not quite sure what I want to be when I grow up, but I'm more excited about the journey to figure that out.

I would love to try out new cities before settling down for a career in Knoxville, TN. I would like to ask fashion designer Mondo Guerra about his design process and getting to bold, show stopping pieces of clothing.
