Alin Tocmacov is an exhibit and experience designer with two decades’ background leading multi-disciplinary creative teams in Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the United States. He joined C&G Partners in 2014, where he manages major museum projects for the firm’s cultural clients. His projects focus on the “phygital,” the intersection between physical and digital design experiences.
Significant museum clients include Asia Society Texas Center, Canadian War Museum, Dutch National Museum of Antiquities, Fort McHenry Visitor Center, Museum of America and the Sea, National Center for Civil and Human Rights, National Children’s Museum, National Archives and Records Administration, and Scheepvaart Maritime Museum.
Alin also has a range of experience with mission-driven organizations such as the American Geophysical Union, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Little Island, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and United Nations. He has worked with renowned brands like Google, YouTube, Coca-Cola, and Swarovski to create experiences that translate brands’ core values into inspiring environments.
Originally from Switzerland, Alin has a Master’s degree of Architecture from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. His career began with the founding of his own design studio, aiming to bridge the gap between spatial environments and the two-dimensional world of visual media. After a half-decade based in the United Kingdom as a senior exhibit designer with Haley Sharpe, he relocated to the United States in 2006. Prior to joining C&G, he worked at the architecture and design firm, Rockwell Group.
Alin is a member of the Society of Experiential Graphic Design and the American Alliance of Museums. He has presented on exhibit and experience design to global audiences at SEGD Exhibition and Experience, Museum Computer Network (MCN), and MuseumNext.
