Ali Ucci is an Associate and the graphic design manager at SMMA, a A/E design firm in Cambridge, MA. She received her BS in Printing from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and moved on to earn her MFA in Graphic Design, also from RIT.
Ali Ucci's first role out of school was exhibit graphic designer for a children's museum in CT, Stepping Stones Museum for Children. At Stepping Stones, she helped design and install numerous hands-on, interactive learning exhibits for children under the age of 12, with themes ranging from energy conservation to construction.
From Stepping Stones, Ali Ucci moved to Boston and began her new role as the first graphic designer ever hired at SMMA. Here, her efforts was focused strictly on internal marketing efforts until around 2015, when the firm began offering graphic design as a service to their clients. Ali has been an integral part of graphic design's rapid growth in client projects, while still leading the marketing efforts within the firm. With the majority of SMMA's client graphic design work being EGD, the team takes full advantage of SMMA's integrated approach and works with project team members across various disciplines (architecture, interior design, engineering, and sustainability to name a few). She provides strategic direction and design to help solve unique problems around client storytelling and bringing their message to life, whether it be through their space, on screen, or on paper.
