Alexa Ornhal is a student studying at James Madison University. She is working to earn her BFA in Graphic Design, with a Minor in Studio Art.
Alexa Ornhal has always had a passion for the arts; from making pasta necklaces in preschool to building sculptures in ceramics class in high school. It wasn’t until she took a graphic design class in high school that she found her true passion.
She is a designer on Yearbook: The Bluestone, where she designs spreads and contributes to staff meeting and discussions regarding content and deadlines. She was also Art Director of Achor Splash for Delta Gamma - Epsilon Nu. There, Alexa collaborated to create and design a Snapchat geotag filter, brochure, banner, logo, and posters for the annual philanthropy event on campus.
Alexa Ornhal was recognized by AIGA Blue Ridge, Virginia for her contribution to Annual FLUX Student Design Competition, publication award for a magazine project called Contexture.
Alexa enjoys producing intricate and complex designs, yet still being understandable and intriguing to the eye. Being creative is important and she gains that creativity by opening up her mind to the world around her and observing it. There is so much out in the world that is inspirational and allows her to think and want to explore the world of design.
