Alchemy Studio (Maplewood, N.J.) began work with the Municipality of Kayseri in central Turkey on the planned Kayseri Science Center, specifically on the master planning and building programming. The Kayseri team is a partnership between the TUBITAK, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, and Kayseri Municipality, all working to bring the first science center to this part of the country. The building is being designed by the Istanbul-based Untitled Studio.
The firm will participate as part of the program at two conferences, starting with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival Symposium, where more than 350 filmmakers, broadcasters, public media professionals, and leaders in science, cultural, and educational institutions will be meeting. In addition, the inaugural Jackson Hole Science Media Awards competition will be launched at this event. Wayne LaBar, Principal of Alchemy Studio, will chair and lead a panel titled “Innovative Media and Exhibits.”
At the annual Giant Screen Cinema Association conference in Sacramento and San Jose, Calif., LaBar will discuss suggested new directions for engaging educational content in films at the session titled “Maximizing the Education/Entertainment Connection.”
