Adam Wells is co-chair of the Kansas City Chapter.

As the firm’s Experiential Graphic Design Leader, Adam Wells works with clients to evoke their brand visually and experientially through environmental graphics, wayfinding, and signage. He collaborates with project stakeholders and design team members to understand the unique characteristics and context of architecture and develops creative solutions that connect the project to occupants and visitors. Adam works with DLR Group offices around the globe to bring experiential design and brand development to our clients, infusing an added level of integrated design into our award-winning building projects.

“The best part about my job is that I’m able to get involved with a variety of tasks and a variety of people. One day I might be laying out a wayfinding plan, the next working with an architect on environmental graphics options for a project, and the next I may be on-site with a client helping to develop a new brand identity for their business. Each day has its own rhythm.”

Some of Adam Wells' most recent work includes design for the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Neb., collaborating with project teams on concessions identities and signage serving as wayfinding cues within high-volume spaces; Tahoma High School and Learning Center in Maple Valley, Wash., integrating large format graphics, branding the facility with local historical imagery; Cal Poly Baseball Clubhouse in San Luis Obispo, Calif., implementing the school brand and highlighting accomplished former players; and an international project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, implementing a wayfinding and signage package that organized multiple buildings in a campus setting.

Adam Wells is co-chair of the Kansas City chapter of the Society of Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD), which brings like-minded designers together from across the globe to help to educate fellow designers about the value wayfinding and graphics can bring to a building or community space.
