Abby Golfo is a Digital Media Student at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
When Abby was a sophomore in high school, she took her mom's point-and-shoot camera to an Amnesty International conference and rally in New York City. Abby was eager to learn, film, document, and give her perspective on global human rights issues. As soon as she got home, she spent hours editing the footage on Windows Movie Maker. This experience was one of her first introductions into the world of storytelling and the power that it has.
Although Abby Golfo no longer uses Windows Movie Maker, she is just as passionate about sharing stories. Today, her interests have shifted towards experience design. Abby Golfo shares stories through different media, from video and design to augmented reality and interactive narratives with a focus on user experience. Her ambition is to use her passion for digital media and social justice to design interactive experiences that inform and connect people. Abby Golfo is currently seeking a full-time interaction design or UX design role starting in May 2018.
Abby is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Digital Media at Georgia Tech where her focus is on UX research/design and social justice. She graduated from the State University of New York at Geneseo (SUNY Geneseo) in 2016 with a double major in communication (journalism and media) and sociology.
