Wayfinding and placemaking are at the heart of transformative transportation experiences. The importance of well-designed and executed solutions to complex transportation challenges is critical to the project's success or failure. Join us IN PERSON for the largest Wayfinding + Placemaking event in SEGD history as we kick off our 50th Anniversary event season!
The event kicks off on Thursday, April 27 with a special networking lunch and event at ARUP’s LA office. Cybelle Jones (CEO, SEGD) and Kris Helmick (CRTKL, 2023 SEGD W+P Chair, SEGD Board Member) will begin by welcoming registered attendees and introducing the themes and topics being covered over the next two days. Attendees will then be invited to grab some lunch and hear a presentation from ARUP’s Paul McConnell and Paul Chavez. Thank you to TFN Architecture for sponsoring this Networking Lunch.
Attendees will then break off to embark on an adventure to explore the city with SEGD’s experiential tours. Tours include Destination Crenshaw “Under Construction”, LAX - Delta Terminal, LA Union Station, and West Hollywood/Sunset Strip. These tours are concurrent and require separate registration. There is a $50 registration fee. Transportation to and from the tour is on your own. Space is limited and on a first-come-first-serve basis. Tour participants will receive an email with tour details the week of the event. Register for a tour here.
The first day will wrap up with the SEGD LA Chapter Mixer at The Denon on Sunset where attendees will network and meet SEGD community members new and old.
Day 2 kicks off bright and early at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center with registration starting at 8:00 am and the sessions kicking off at 9:00 am.
